Culinary and medicinal plant. It can be cultivated indoor and in pots as well as in culinary gardens. It is used in cooking to season dishes, sauces and salads to give them a spicy tasting. The seeds contain lipids and sinalbin. Good cover and green manure crop.
Annual plant of 80-150cm with large composed lobbed and green leaves. Yellow clustered flowers from July to September. The orange seeds are a little bigger than the ones of black mustard.
It needs sandy, light, basic soils from cool to humid.
Direct sowing at the end of winter. Lightly cover the seeds and maintain the humidity until germination is completed.
