Winter Savory
Formats
Aromatic and ornamental plant. Culinary. Highly scented. Attractive low bush for borders, edgings, flowerbeds and rockery.
Evergreen growing up to 50cm with short little hairs and long groups of flowers looking like a white or pinky tube. Small lanceolate leaves. It grows in deep and fertile soils.
The flowered branches are used in olive maceration, to flavour cheese and as herbal tea. It is also used in wine and liqueur macerations. It has the same medicinal properties as Satureja hortensis.
Direct sowing in spring. All year indoor.
