Chives is an essential herb in cooking. It is also an ornamental plant for the garden, in pots, on the sill of a window or in the kitchen. Edible flower.

Description

Culinary but also decorative in gardens for its beautiful flowering.

Chives Medium Leaved are clump-forming plants with erect green leaves of mild onion flavour. Edible rose pink flowers grow in June/July. Use with tomatoes, salads or added to cream cheese.

These chives are easy to grow in any soil. Established clumps should be divided in autumn. Bees also love the flowers.

Sow outdoors; in situ, in May, with thin to 15 cm spacing
