LEEK ’Blue Solaise’

Variety of leek very hardy with blue leaves. Very popular green in winter. Medium long 14-18 cm. French variety of the XIXth century.

It is eaten in soup, steamed or cooked as well as in gratins and pies.

Sowing outdoors from April to May in lines spaced 15 cm apart. Transplant when the plant reaches 10 cm, shorten the leaves and roots and plant in rows spaced 30 cm apart with 20 cm distance between each leek.

Rich in vitamins, phosphorus, iron and copper. Grown in the company of carrots will remove parasites such as leek worm.
