Culinary, medicinal and ornamental plant. Ideal for pots, in kitchen and herb gardens. The whole plant is used from its stems to its leaves. Used in soups, they can be added to salads, scrambled eggs, omelettes. Herbal tea and juices are also made. The plant has diuretic, analgesic, anti-stress, demulcent properties. It is useful as well in case of protaste inflammation. It is used as herbal tea and plaster.

Annual plant of 60-100cm. The stems and leaves are dark-green, hairy and oval. It has beautiful blue-purple, star-shaped, clustered flowers.

Prefers sandy, slightly clay soils under a Mediterranean climate. The Common Borage is coming originally from Aleppo but now naturalized in most parts of Europe.

Direct sowing in Spring and Autumn.
