Variety of leek very hardy with blue leaves. Very popular green in winter. It is eaten in soup, steamed or cooked as well as in gratins and pies. French variety of the XIXth century.
Medium long 14-18 cm. Rich in vitamins, phosphorus, iron and copper. Grown together with carrots will remove parasites such as leek worm.
Sowing outdoors from April to May in lines spaced 15 cm apart. Transplant when the plant reaches 10 cm, shorten the leaves and roots and plant in rows spaced 30 cm apart with 20 cm distance between each leek.
