An old and interesting Italian variety. Strong growing rate with spreading or climbing shoots. Fruits are bell-shaped with an elongated upper part. They appear on plants at the end of summer. They are filled with fiberless, firm flesh, exceptionally tasty and fragrant. In Italy this squash is stuffed, sliced, fried, roasted or sauteed. It is also used to make pumpkin jam.
