SEEDS OF KALE ’SCARLET’
One of the few greens available in the garden in winter. Dark green frilly curled leaves with red vein. After a few frosts the leaves turn completely purple. Very vigorous and frost resistant. 90-100cm tall.
The leaves can be harvested young for baby-leaf salads. Low in calories containing vitamin C, calcium and potassium. It can be grown near potatoes, celery, onions or beets. Never together with tomatoes, beans and strawberries.
Sowing from May to July. Transplant with a separation of 50x60cm.
