Place the seeds in boiling water at 90ºC for 5 seconds and immediately after transfer to running water with ice cubes in it. Soak for 24h and then proceed to the sowing.
It grows on sandy or silty and acid or neutral soils.
The roots help to cure molar pains, injuries and sore throat. The leaves, bark and roots have gastric properties. It is a good fodder. The wood is used to make furniture or firewood. A honeybee tree also pollen and nectar.
