Deciduous tree up to 6-8 m, with typical hanging deep-red flowers. Elegant leaves. The fruit is a pod filled with seeds.

Place the seeds in boiling water at 90º for 5 minutes and immediately after transfer to running water with ice cubes in it. Soak for 24h and then proceed to the sowing maintaining temperatures of 15ºC night/25ºC day until the germination is completed.
Prefers poor and dry soils.
It is one of the most blossoming tree in the world.
