The bark and wood is used in crafts and in carpentry. If you put the pulp of its fruit into water you obtain a foam used as soap to wash clothes or in perfumery. From the seeds oils are extracted for lamps. When they are ground they become a natural insect repellent. The seed are also used to make jewels and toys for children like beads. It is a honeybee species and the bark has perspirant and diuretic properties.
