Ornamental tree used for avenues, parks and gardens. Excellent shadow tree. Very fast growing. The fruits are food to birds. With the seeds rosary beads are made. From its leaves dyes for fabrics are made.
With a round canapy this deciduous tree grows up to 8-12m. Bright green oval leaves. Showy little purple flowers in spring. The fruit is a small pale yellow globe.
Adapts to any types of soils.
Soak the seeds in cool water for 24 hours before sowing at temperature of 20ºC.
