Ornamental tree with a narrow crown to be cultivated as an isolated tree, an alignment tree or in hedges. It is found in urban zones as it is a fast growing tree. The wood is used in carpentry and cabinet making. With the seeds creams and ice creams can be made. The fruit is sweet. It is used for cattle food. It is a good shade-tree.
Deciduous tree growing up to 40 m with little clustered yellow, bell-shaped flowers. Spinless form. Bright green leaves. The fruit is a brown pod produced every 3 or 5 years.
It prefers deep and dry soils.
Place the seeds in boiling water at 90ºC for 5 seconds and immediately after transfer to running water with ice cubes in it. Soak for 24h and then proceed to the sowing maintaining temperatures of 20ºC night/25ºC day until the germination is completed.
