Honey locusts can reach a height of 20–30 m.The leaves are pinnately compound on older trees but bipinnately compound on vigorous young trees. The strongly scented cream-colored flowers appear in late spring, in clusters emerging from the base of the leaf axils. The fruit is a flat pod that matures between September and October and is produced every 3 or 5 years.
It prefers deep and dry soils.
Place the seeds in boiling water at 90ºC for 5 seconds and immediately after transfer to running water with ice cubes in it. Soak for 24h and then proceed to the sowing maintaining temperatures of 20ºC night/25ºC day until the germination is completed.
