Ornamental, forestry and medicinal tree. This species is used for reforestation and can be planted together with Poplars, Willows and Elms… The leaves have analgesic properties. They can also treat rheumatism and make gums stronger. Leaves are a good fodder for cattle. The wood is used for cabinet-making.

FRM. Source Identified. Spain, E-455-14 La Rioja.

Narrowleaf Ash is an elegant, fast-growing deciduous tree to 15-25 m tall. This is a compact, small-leaved ash with a finer, lacier texture than most members of the genus.  Flowers appear before the leaves in early spring.

Prefers siliceous, cool and humid soils.

Depending on the geographical areas and altitude sowing can take place from February to April. To obtain a more regular and faster germination stratify in cold the seeds for 90-120 days before the sowing. It is possible to use a sowing substrate for potting or soil from the garden together with a sowing substrate if the sowing is made directly into the garden. The substrate must be wet but not soggy until the germination is completed.
