Place the seeds in boiling water at 90ºC for 5 seconds and immediately after transfer to running water with ice cubes in it. Soak for 24h and then proceed to the sowing maintaining temperatures of 15ºC night/25ºC day until the germination is completed.
Lebbek is a multipurpose tree such as timber and firewood. Medicinal properties in the leaves, bark, seeds and roots. The bark secretes a gum that can replace gum arabic. In arid areas it is a good fooder for the foliage, twigs and flowers are relished by livestock.
