The gum arabic is widely used in traditional medicine and in pharmacology as well as for the manufacture of cosmetics and as a food additive.
Small deciduous tree with a dense, spherical top. It can reaches 5-8 meters tall. Cracked bark, yellowish-brown color that exudes gummy resin known as gum arabic. The branches have many thorns that come in pairs. The flowers are golden yellow or cream. Grey-green leaves.
