Evergreen shrub up 1.5-2 m.
Prefers poor, limestone and dry soils. It is found on the edges of forests, on open woodland grounds and shady cliffs.
To obtain a more regular and faster germination stratify in cold the seeds for 90-120 days before the sowing. Sowing temperatures of 15ºC.
