Deciduous shrub growing up to 8m with oval dark green leaves, yellow flowers and red sweet and sour fruits.
Prefers humid places, flooded and acid soils. It is found on river edges, in bushes and along woods and paths.
To obtain a more regular and faster germination stratify in hot for 120 days and then stratify in cold for 120 days before the sowing in spring with temperatures of 15ºC/20ºC.
