Ornamental shrub with medicinal properties for rockery, edges and hedges.
Evergreen up to 3m with very little yellow clustered butterfly-like flowers. Lanceolate leaves. The fruit is a straw-coloured pod filled with the seeds.

Place the seeds in boiling water at 90ºC for 5 seconds and immediately after transfer to running water with ice cubes in it. Soak for 24h and then proceed to the sowing maintaining temperatures of 15ºC night/25ºC day until the germination is completed.
It adapts to any soils prefering dry and poor ones. It is naturally found in bushes and on sunny slopes. Tolerate cold winters as well as hot summers.
In natural medicine it is used against serious respiratory illnesses, spotted fever and as a diuretic.
