A 2m tall shrub with evergreen lanceolate green leaves turning red in autumn. White flowers in summer. The fruit is a very decorative reddish berry.
It needs rich and well drained soils.
Soak the seeds in cool water for 24 hours before sowing in spring, at temperatures of 10ºC night/20ºC day.
