Evergreen shrub from 2 to 5m, although it can reach the condition of a tree up to 12m. Bright green, perennial leaf. The flowers are simple or double, showy and large, with colors that can be white, pink or red. Flowering from winter till spring.
Soak the seeds in cool water for 24 hours before sowing at temperatures of 15ºC night/20ºC day. Cold stratification for 1 month is possible for sowings in spring.
It requires light but without direct sun. Does not support strong frosts. Fertilize from spring to autumn. Prune after flowering.
