Attractive perennial tree or shrub native to Australia suiting Mediterranean style gardens. The flowers are edible. They are used to make fritters. A yellow dye is extracted from the flowers and a green dye is extracted from the seed pods.
Known as the´Knife-Leaf Wattle’ or’ Half-Moon Wattle’ it is a perennial shrub. It grows to a height of 2-4 m. Its attractive foliage and prolific bright yellow flowers make it a popular garden plant.
Grows on drained, light and neutral soils either cool or moist. Tolerate frost and dryness.
Place the seeds in boiling water for 5 seconds and immediately after transfer to running water with ice cubes in it. Soak for 48h and then proceed to the sowing maintaining hot temperature (20ºC) until the germination is completed.
