Cootamundra Wattle grows to a large bushy shrub or small tree, commonly reaching 5–10 m high. The short bipinnate leaves are usually blue-grey in colour, the flower heads are lemon yellow and arranged elongated, showy racemes, and the relatively large pods are flat and covered with a white bloom when young. Cootamundra Wattle is native to Australia.
Resists calcareous soils and light frost but never under -5°C. To be planted in full sun or half shade however in the brightest areas. When young it needs a pruning to shape it and clean it after full bloom.
Place the seeds in boiling water for 5 seconds and immediately after transfer to running water with ice cubes in it. Soak for 24h and then proceed to the sowing maintaining hot temperatures (20ºC/30ºC) until the germination is completed.
