The tree exudes an edible resin by its cracks in the bark. It is the gum arabic that is used in different industries such as food. It has medicinal properties.
Acacia nilotica or Acacia arabica is a shrub from 2 to 9 m. tall with a dense spheric crown. Grey leaves. Golden yellow flowers. Thorny. From the bark Arabic gum is extracted.
Prefers acid, sandy and light soils.
Direct sowing. Temperatures 20ºC/30ºC. Lightly cover the seeds and maintain the humidity until germination is completed.
