A very much planted shrub in gardens for the colouring of its foliage according to the seasons and its hardiness.

Growing up to 1.5m. Perennial, composed and green leaves turning reddish in autumn and winter. Little yellow and scented flowers. Bluish berries.

Depending on the geographical areas and altitude sowing can take place from from March to May. To obtain a more regular and faster germination stratify in cold the seeds for 90-120 days before the sowing.
