SEEDS OF BLACK FIR - PICEA MARIANA
This conifer was very dear to the Native Americans, using it in its rites by the shamans and as medicine for its expectorant and antiseptic properties.
About 5m tall although it can reach 20m, with bluish green needle-like leaves and red-purple cones turning brown at maturity.
