A medicinal and culinary plant. To grow in pots, edges and rockery.
It is digestive, aromatic, diuretic and stimulating. The leaves are anise flavoured. Raw or cooked they can be spread on salads. The seeds flavour cakes, bread, liqueurs and and beverages.
Perennial plant up to 2.5m with needle-shaped stretched out and dark-green leaves. Yellow flowers and brown ovoid fruits.
It prefers dry slightly acid and poor soils.
Sowing all year round indoors, from october till march outside. Lightly cover the seeds and maintain the humidity until germination is completed.
