SEEDS OF MEXICAN FAN PALM - WASHINGTONIA ROBUSTA
Fast growing palm tree. Hardy (-5ºC). Ornamental, alignement tree, gardens, pot plant. Erosion. Desertification. It is also a useful green filter plant.
Very high tree up to 25m with narrow trunk. Extremely big bright green leaves reaching 2m in diametre. The inflorescence is up to 3 m long, with numerous small pale orange-pink flowers. The fruit is a spherical, blue-black drupe. It is edible, though thin-fleshed.
It likes neat, light soils from neutral to acid and cool or humid ones.
Soak the seeds in cool water for 24-48 hours before sowing at temperatures of 20ºC night/30ºC day.
