Evergreen conifer up to 40m. The leaves are greyish-green. The cones are rounded not flattened and brown. Their maturity is in autumn.

Direct sowing. Depending on the geographical areas and altitude sowing can take place from February to April. To obtain a more regular and faster germination stratify in cold the seeds for 30-60 days before the sowing.
