Soak the seeds in cool water for 24 hours before sowing at temperatures of 20ºC.
It grows in sandy, light soils from neutral to acid ones.
Used for game cover and as groundcover to stop erosion. From its roots, a refreshing drink is obtained. It is known as zarzaparrilla, a very old and famous drink in the United States and in Europe. Used against flu, gout, rheumatism, skin diseases for its diuretic, aphrodisiac and tonic properties.
