Vigorous climber with beautiful flowers followed by edible fruits known as Passionfruit. The passion fruit is rich in A and C vitamins. It can be eaten raw as a fruit but also in juices and beverages, ice-creams, sorbets and jellys. Herbal tea is made from its flower and leaves. It calms anxiety and stress.
Woody, perennial vine up to 10m. Evergreen, lobbed and serrated leaves. Fragrant white and violet flowers. The passion fruit is large, round and yellow at maturity.
It grows on loamy soils from neutral to acid, slightly humid.
Soak the seeds in cool water for 24 hours before sowing at temperature of 20ºC day.
