Useful climbing plant to cover walls and for sculptural gardening. Great ornamental interest for the variety of the leaves shapes and colours. It can be grown as a ground cover and on rockery. It has spasmodic and expectorant properties but a home made use is not advised because it may have opposite effects.
Evergreen, dark green foliage. Black non edible berries.
It grows on alcaline, well drained and cool soils.
Remove the berry. Soak the seeds in cool water for 24 hours before sowing in Spring. Lightly cover the seeds and maintain the humidity until germination is completed.
