SEEDS OF SACRED FIG TREE - FICUS RELIGIOSA
Sacred tree for Buddhists and Hindus, it is grown as an isolated tree or in groups. An excellent indoor or patios plant. Bonsai. The bark has medicinal properties but it is not recommended for domestic use. This fig tree is used in ayurvedic medicine.
Deciduous or evergreen tree growing up to 10m with a narrow top. The leaves are heart-shaped and their end is a little tail making it different from other species.
Winter is the best season for pruning.
Direct sowing. Temperatures 18ºC night/25ºC day. Lightly cover the seeds and maintain the humidity until germination is completed.
