St John's Wort is an important aromatic and medicinal plant also grown for edges and rockery. This plant is used in cosmetics, as an antiseptic and as herbal tea. The essential oil is recommended to massage painful muscles. Mixed with herbal shampoo it is efficient against dandruff. Since many years the leaves have been used by fortune tellers to predict the future and fight against evil spells.
Perennial plant of 1m. tall with big clustered flowers. Yellow and black spotted petals. Small oval and long pale green leaves. Prefers calcium rich soils. It is naturally found along pathways, in sunny and dry places.
