SEEDS OF ASH - FRAXINUS EXCELSIOR

Deciduous tree 30-40cm, with opposite lanceolate leaves. Flowers appear before the leaves.  Very appreciated timber it is also used as an ornamental tree. The wood is very elastic and resistant, in addition to being used as fuel. The leaves and branches are also used as fodder for livestock.

Ash prefers to grow in deep, moist, well drained and fertile soil

Depending on the geographical areas and altitude sowing can take place from September to December. Stratify in hot the seeds for 4 months and stratify in cold for 4 months before the sowing. It is possible to use a sowing substrate for potting or soil from the garden together with a sowing substrate if the sowing is made directly into the garden. The substrate must be wet but not soggy until the germination is completed.
