Ornamental grass. It is grown in gardens or it is used by florists. This species is of great ornamental value because of its nice spikelets which decorate gardens but also dried or fresh bunches made by florists.
Annual erect grass to 60-70cm. The leaves are spike-shaped and deep-green. The flowers are membraneous, hanging, pale-green spikelets. The breeze moves them elegantly.
It prefers poor and neutral soils.
Direct sowing from March to June.
