Cashew
Formats
It is widely consumed for its cashew seed. Native to Amazonian regions and Brazil it is used to make sweets or candies. Cosmetics can be produced from it too.
The bark and its leaves have medicinal properties to cure dysentery, sorethroat and to heal injuries. Its vegetable has high-valued properties for the chemical industry and to create medicines. Tool handles are made from its wood.
Tolerates any sort of soils but prefers clear, deep, sandy and well-drained soils.
Direct sowing.
Evergreen tree growing up to 7-20m of a height. The leaves are dark-green or bright yellow. The numerous flowers are intense green or yellowish. Produces a pear-shaped fruit. WIthin the fruit is a seed often considered as a nut in the culinary sense. The rib on this nut is typical. This nut is used as a dried fruit.
