SEEDS OF POMEGRANATE - PUNICA GRANATUM

Fruit tree also cultivated to decorate gardens and avenues. Bonsai. Medicinal properties. The pomegranate juice is antioxydant and cleanser. Medicinal properties: from the bark a substance is extracted to eliminate intestine worms. The flowers and bark have been used as astringents and the juice can treat throat illness.

Deciduous tree growing 2 to 5m tall with bright red flowers. Spiny. Oval or lanceolate leaves. Edible red fruit, fleshy, as big as an orange.

Prefers deep, light and well drained soils.

Soak the seeds in cool water for 24 hours before sowing at temperatures of 20ºC/25ºC.
