Wild Olive Tree is used in reforestation and erosion control. The fruits are used for the production of the olive oil, used in kitchen but also in cosmetics and natural medicine. It is cultivated as an isolated tree for its ornamental value. It is a good firewood and it is used in carpentry and cabinet making industries. Bonsai.
Evergreen tree which is smaller and has smaller fruits than the ones of its genus Olea europaea. It is more resistant to drought, fire and salt. It adapts to cool and well-drained soils.
Direct sowing or to obtain a more regular and faster germination stratify in cold the seeds for 6 months before the sowing. It is possible to use a sowing substrate for potting or soil from the garden together with a sowing substrate if the sowing is made directly into the garden. The substrate must be wet but not soggy until the germination is completed.
