Attractive plant for the gardens with its fragrant, pink flowers, the Soapwort is mainly cultivated for its high content in saponine used in phytotherapy against  rheumatism, gout, skin itchiness, arteriosclerosis. Also used as a soap to wash delicate fabrics.
