Evergreen plant of 60cm. Double flowers, mixed colours from purple blue to white, in summer. They look like little opened trumpets.

Direct sowing in spring and autumn.

It will develop better on cool and well-drained soils.

It is used to decorate the gardens, borders and flowerbeds but also as a cutflower. It has astringent, diuretic and antipyretic properties. The seeds grounded and macerated in olive oil are used against louse. In the Antiquity it was used to stimulate appetite, as a diuretic and as an anti-perspirant.

It needs 3 waterings per week and more in case of drought.
