Ornamental flower for rockery, flowerbeds, walls and pots. Medicinal properties. The flowers spread a pleasant scent and it is also a food colouring. It is diuretic, purgative and it is used to cure injuries. Pot plant.
Annual growing up to 50-60 cm with numerous white, red, yellow or pink funnel-shaped flowers opening at nightfall and closing at dawn. Heart-shaped leaves and bright-red or orangey berries.
Prefers fertile, light, sandy and well drained soils.
Direct sowing in spring. Lightly cover the seeds and maintain the humidity until germination is completed.
