Annual of almost 70cm with blue-purple thistle-like flowers, in summer. Lanceolate leaves. The fruits contain dark-coloured seeds.
It grows on clay and humid soils.
Sowing in spring and autumn. Lightly cover the seeds and maintain the humidity until germination is completed.
