Before the flowering the freshgreen leaves can be cooked as spinach. In this case they lose their poisonous properties. On the contrary its seeds are inoffensive and part of our daily diet.

Needs light, acid and dry soils.
Direct sowing in winter/spring. Lightly cover the seeds and maintain the humidity until germination is completed.
