Ornamental flower for bunches, rockery and pots. Medicinal properties. It is sedative, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal. This flower gives an edible oil and its seeds are added to cakes and breads. Seed are also added to some mixtures of cattle fodder.
Annual. 40cm. Single, large, orange flowers in summer. They close at night or if it is not a sunny day.
Prefers sandy, limestone and dry soils.
Direct sowing in spring or autumn. Lightly cover the seeds and maintain the humidity until germination is completed.
