Safflower, famous for its culinary uses, properties and natural pigment, but it is also ideal for cut flowers due to its striking colors even when dry! In addition to being grown in wild gardens, pots and borders.
Annual, erect, 40-150cm tall and spiny. Yellow bloom that grows from flower heads and contains the seeds. Dark green lanceolate leaves with prickly edges.
It has multiple uses, in the coloring industry for spices, its seeds as food for birds, oil for industrial and food uses... since it contains properties that help glucose and metabolism, among many others.
Direct sowing when frost ends. Keep the substrate moist until germination.
