SEEDS OF POT MARIGOLD - CALENDULA OFFICINALIS PACIFIC BEAUTY

Ideal flower to use in pots and borders. It has medicinal properties and is used as a spice. The dried petals are used in cooking as a substitute for saffron. Formerly they were used in butters and cheeses giving them a touch of color. The plant has healing properties being used against measles among others.

Annual up to 60cm. Double flower,  mixed colors from cream to orange. Oval-lanceolate leaves covered with short hairs.

Soak the seeds in cool water for 24 hours. Drain the seeds without letting them dry and proceed to sowing in spring.

It prefers silty soils, from neutral to acid and well drained.
