The Terebinto o Pistacia terebinthus is rootstock for pistachio (Pistacia Vera). Used as an isolated tree or in group in a garden. Also in reforestation and landscape restorations for erosion control. Suitable for xeriscape and formation of wild hedges. It is antiinflammatory and astringent. Turpentine is extracted from this plant. Valuable plant to birds and small animals that feed on their fruits dispersing the seeds naturally.

Deciduous shrub up to 5m, with dark green leaves and reddish flowers. The fruit is pinkish and turns dark blue when ripe. Prefers dry and stony soils.

Direct sowing or for a more regular and faster germination, stratify in cold the seeds for 60 days before the sowing at temperatures of 20ºC/30ºC.
