SEEDS OF SPEARMINT - MENTHA SPICATA

The Spearmint is a shrubby and culinary herb with medicinal properties for edges, herbs gardens and low hedges. The leaves and the essential oil extracted are used to flavour chewing-gums, sweets, meat, sauces, salads and drinks. It is used also used to prepare teas. It is antispasmodic, antiseptic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and stimulating.

Evergreen aromatic plant of about 30 cm with a sweet and smooth perfume. The flowers are very narrow, white or lilac spikes. Hairy spear-shaped leaves.

Needs fresh soils and grows on humid areas. Invasive palnt. In a garden we recommend to sow it in pots.

Direct sowing in spring in the garden. All year round indoor. Lightly cover the seeds and maintain the humidity until germination is completed.
